Marrige proposals... In Video Games?

This morning, of all things...

I log onto Xbox.com to poke around the community when I come across this article.

Now... Normally this sort of thing wouldn't Surprise me.

Wait, first let's give you a summary so you don't actually have to read the article. This guy "edited" a map in Halo 3. In which he spelled out the words "Marry Me?" With an assortment of guns. Then he brought his girlfriend (who was playing on another console) over to the area in the level.

This was his fantastic idea for a proposal to his girlfriend.

Back to what I was saying.. This sort of behavior wouldn't surprise me... Via a game like World of Warcraft.... Mainly because everyone becomes a major addict of that game that plays it... (Most everyone). Men and women alike.. I've even met friends of friends who were introduced via WoW... But HALO 3?

Halo 3 doesn't even give you much opportunity to chat, discuss, or meet people on a regular basis. It's a SHOOTING game, the point is to kill each other. Not engage in marriage proposals!

I don't know.. It's not really my place to say anything I guess.. But still.. Oddddddddd..

Where did my time go?

Okay... I realize it has been almost two weeks since my last post.

Here are the major updates.

1. My band (death of downtown) is playing Nov 11th at 1982 in Gainesville. This is very exciting. It will be our First show ever. We've only managed to pull 2 actual practices for this show... So mistakes will be made.. But fun will be had!

2. Last night I received a call from Steven, my awesome guitarist/singer. He decidedly decided that we need to make a Christmas EP. He wants to re-record some songs of ours in acoustic, along with an acoustic version of a Christmas song that almost everyone will recognize! I won't tell you and ruin the surprise. So you can just beg me for a CD.

3. Currently the band is the only thing that interests me. School is here, it's going well.. Just not too exciting if you ask me! I also currently decided that I will own this guitar, THURSDAY! Bass guitar that is.

It is a Fender! Wooohoo!!!! P Bass. The mexican version is my preferred version because it carries a price tag of only $450.00 instead of the American price tag of $1000.00. From what I understand the differences aren't so large... Mainly the body is made of a few more plys of wood.. (Meaning it's a pound or two heavier). The pickups are slightly different (But I'm changing out stock pickups regardless). And the neck is a tad different (Which I'll change out when I have some money!).

Amazing that you can mod a bass guitar just as much as a car!

Anyway.. Uhh I'm out of stuff for the moment.

I'll come back later and say some more...

So the day the sun died.....

Nothing eventful will happen. Except we will die within a matter of weeks....

Anyway.. Uhhm... I went to Tag a wall with my buddy from our band... And... well.. I missed the action. I did get to supervise the last Ten Minutes of it though! Woo!!

Tag a wall : Spray paint the 34th Street Wall.

End result:

Oh Yeah.. I went to shoot pool for a little bit which turned into an Hour. What the Hell.. The Things alcohol do to you?

I'm really out of things to talk about at the moment.. I do have a test today. Life has become a mundane schedule of drinking/work/working out/school! Which I guess is fun. Just not too exciting anymore!

No News of the Late!

So Thrice has a new album coming out on the 16th. It's apparently based off different elements of the Earth. Each element corresponds to a style of music. Fire is the first release, and is a rough edgy style... If you go to their page I just linked, you'll probably find something you enjoy. Thrice is quite the amazing band!

Anyway, they are playing Orlando, two nights in a row... One of which, or both I will be at. You cannot deny one of the best bands that composes music.

But don't take my word for it!

Yeah that was definitely Reading Rainbow!

Power to the People. Or Me.

There is no power, but there is something awesome about a company sucking at it's job.

Okay maybe they don't suck, but maybe they do. My phone insurance company decides to send me a phone to replace one. I previously blogged it I think. So the phone they send me needs sent back because it's broken. They send me a new one.. Well the new one messed up recently and I called to have it replaced again.

They oblige after some hassle... Then they tell me they are goin to send me a UPS label for me to ship my broken phone to them. When they receive my broke ass phone they'll send me a new non broken phone. I agree....

Well today, I still am using my broke ass phone and my new phone came in the mail. Some how they sent me it without me sending my broken phone? Maybe they were being nice? Maybe they just lied. Or maybe they screwed up on their computers somewhere... Anyway I'm happy!

I received this neat, Alltel LG AX8600. It's rather cute, and rather blue. I won't complain because it was free and it got here really quickly...

Next - HALF LIFE.. The story, it came out in 1999. It was amazing, it revolutionized video games for the PC. I actually believe that Half Life caused a lot of gamers to go to the PC and stray from console living for a few years. After Half Life rocked our world, TFC came out.... TFC being team fortress Classic... Possibly the best multi player experience out there.

Anyone that knows anything about FPS will know Half Life... Quiz them sometime. Anyway, my point is that Half Life came out recently AGAIN for the Xbox 360. As Half Life 2: The Orange Box. They released Half Life 2 with a few extra games wrapped in a cute little orange box. From what I understand, it's possibly the best game purchase to be made for any FPS console fan. I think I'll go buy it and lay waste to a few hours of my life soon... I get paid on Friday so maybe that would be my best way to spend money!

Fin-

Reminder to post about Thrice next!

Hoooray!

Bowling and drinking. God invented these two things to just flow together. He decided at one point in man kinds miserable creation, that then and there we needed one of the best forms of entertainment for our selves. He thought, well it's cheap, it's easy, all they need are some balls, a few pins, and some shoes that slide.......

And then there was Bowling!

And then like Christmas, and Easter humans turned bowling into a bull shit money grabber for large corporations.

Oh, moral of the story. I went bowling last night, quarter night to be precise, and I ended up bowling the highest score of our party. Yes, a 107, now that you know how sad of a group we were, you should also know how drunk of a group we were. Need I say more? Yes! It was 25cent night, as in $2.40 a pitcher... As in, we were a bunch of drunk fucked up skunks.

Oh, the real meaning behind this is, I fell while holding a beer in my left hand and bowling the 15lb ball in my right hand, accomplishing this severe pain in my knee at the moment. But on the bright side, I did get a strike that roll!

Lastly, I had an amazing night. Not entirely because of the bowling either. I don't know why!

Censorship is terrorism?

I'm not sure where people got the idea that Freedom of Speech became obsolete? I happened to notice this article online today.. It scares me.

For the lazy - A man wearing a Fishing T-shirt that says "Master Baiter" on it was asked to remove his shirt and put something else on, or he would not be able to fly on the Airplane. Apparently they have a policy stating they can refuse service to people wearing offensive material on their clothing. Yet, they do not have a dress code. Is this ridiculous? They also don't have a specific example, and rely on employees interest to decipher what is appropriate or not.

Censorship............

Wonder if they'd let me wear this shirt?

Something about Trust, that I just don't trust!

Sometimes I wonder about the thought of trust. Especially if you learn to trust someone who really doesn't trust you. I was under the belief system that to Trust someone meant you have to receive trust from them also?...
I think maybe I'm talking about respect and not trust.

Which brings me to another topic.... How do you let someone down easy in a strange situation? Any situation, not just in a relationship manner?

Fuck that-

I was playing Zelda And the Phantom Hour Glass.... How amazing is technology? The original Zelda I played on Gameboy back in the day is now on the Nintendo DS, but the game looks as if it were on a console system. It's amazing! Cell Shaded, shadow affects!

Speaking of technology, I discussed this topic with a student at UF but had never experienced it.
Cell phones with Television on them! Apparently in Korea if your cell phone does not have TV, and you do not watch it... You're completely not technologically savvy! Which rocks. Because I got this new Samsung u520 phone, by accident, that has Television on it. It's a relatively cheap service and I don't have cable in our house so I did subscribe to it.. There are at least 40 channels of news and entertainment and music.

Amazing!! No, that was not a sales pitch. Don't go buy this phone I don't think everyone should enjoy TV on campus like I do. I'm rather selfish.

Peace out!

Hi my name is

Hi my name is Nathan Rigney.

Now that we've been introduced.

I'm so behind in homework... Maybe I should wake up and push through it like a wild animal? Yeah. I have this weekend to catch up. What a wonderful thought.

I talked to my brother. He called me on my birthday, which was a wonderful surprise. I haven't spoken with him in a week prior to the event. You see.... He currently is teaching English in Puerto Rico.

Lovely. I miss him. Sadly, it won't help. He comes home in two weeks anyway, so that is something to marvel at!

Music music music. I have turned into a music junkie as I once was in my more youthful stages of life. Now I understand why Guttermouth said "The punk scene is for the under 21." It's true... I go to a show and feel very old, most of my peers are minors! Makes me feel old and hopeless, to a degree.

Turning 21 was the most expensive thing I've ever done

Really. I have spent so much money on alcohol. I never realized how expensive it is to drink. I wont mention how much I've spent recently, but I will say that it has been way too much, and not worth it in the long run.

Don't get me wrong, at the moment it's worth every penny. It's exciting and new to be drunk legally in public, and to have access to Anywhere, anytime!

I feel old. I haven't accomplished much with my life yet.... And now that I'm twenty one, I feel even more useless..

Maybe I'll do something different sometime soon.

I'm 21 I am drunk... Who cares at the moment!

I have so much to say but I have so much more homework to do! So I'll continue later.

The Problem with Pets

I decide to go home. I left Saturday at 9:30ish.. I came home Sunday at 12pmish. A short 26hours of fun at home. I took my dog. Mistake number One. My dog seems to think it can piss wherever it wants now. I can't express my anger towards the dog, nor know how to express it to anyone else.

Wtf dog!

Dogs are a pain in the ASS. I had this dog TRAINED. She would not piss, would not shit, and would not puke on my floor for any reason.. Now she will. Because of one 26 hour event in another town.

Anyway -

Alltel.... Mistake two. Returning a phone in store that needs to be claimed as faulty through insurance. Alltel reps think they can say as much, or as little as they want. In any manner they want. I had a rude lady that left her statements to a bare minimum. She replaced my $190.00 Phone with a phone I found on ebay that had a current value of $30.00.

I don't like flip phones. IN fact I hate flip phones and purchased a $180.00 Non-Flip phone for this very reason. I fought on the phone with alltel, and Alltel's insurnace agency. I won, eventually realizing to a degree that corporations will try to fuck you blind side, until you stand up for your rights.

Don't Tase me Bro!

Seems to be a reoccurring theme lately.

I'm getting Halo3 tonight. That is the only positive as of right now.

Today is the the first day of the rest of my life.

James said I should create a blog. I guess I should. I'm fairly behind in the ways of internet fads. Even though I fancy my self internet savvy, I'm more interested in video game pop culture. My not so much fear, but more understanding is that, like most people I don't really care what others have to say about life. Everyone in my opinion is a little self centric...... Including yours truly.

I'll figure out what to say later down the road. I'm done for now.

"The problem of serving God a summons could land the lawsuit in the earthly scrap heap of failed legal actions."

Apparently someone sued god?

Halo3 comes out in 2 days. Hoorah.
