Where does time go?

October 13th, what a splendid day to be alive.

I realize that sometimes you can't keep track of your life, especially as I get older myself. I realize that I don't want to keep track of most of the things I do. I would rather burn a hole through my memory without the use of alcohol. On the other hand, why not have that story to tell buddies later in life? "I was so drunk I..."

Things hurt sometimes. I'm under the impression that Racism is the same pretense as trickle down economics..

You have layers of wealth where the money/income starts high and drips below, from bill gates to that homeless guy on the street corner. I think we've learned lately trickle down economics are failing. Ask Obama about that one.

Anyway, Racism is a trickle down economic.

You start a few generations back. I'm 22, so take my grandparents for example. They are extremely racist, screaming profanities out to whomever, whenever the feeling hits them..

Now my parents grew up with this and learned through social acceptance that this behavior is okay, at an early age. Eventually they hit the 70s/80s and realized through public outcry this is unacceptable. That gut feeling has been instilled that it's okay, just not publically.

Next Generation: The parents will make slight comments that seem racist.. The whole.. "Joke about racism and unemployment" or aids or what the hell ever they want to joke over. This is what I hear as a youth... Up until the late 90s, early 00' when I hear about Qualified whites losing jobs to Unqualified Blacks based on governmental tax breaks. Here comes the racist jokes!

Social Norms taught me this is wrong, it also taught me that "Nigger" will make me cringe and vomit inside. Not because I understand how much it hurts, but rather because I understand that it is WRONG> What social norm pegs as right, is right, right?

Ask Stan from southpark.. He has a whole episode to learning what the Nword truely means! He never does. That's the point and the moral of the story. White people are stupid about racism, but so are some black people so... We are all stupid about it.

Now you hit my generation. I don't say "nigger" in a negative manner. I don't even really say it at all. Rap is constantly saying "nigga" so apparently at some point the word lost it's meaning. I'm not allowed to be racist now because it is plain wrong... So I've learned. But somewhere deep inside I've had cynicism built into me about black people. I'll laugh at that racist joke, or hear about that black kid that got a full ride into a top school and say, that is fucked up.

It is. But Am I still racist? Aren't we all? Isn't EVERYBODY a little bit racist? (Isn't this a song? You know, some muppets sang on broadway?)

So what about someone you know who has interacial sex, or marriage? Yeah I don't care. More power to that couple. If they have a kid, I hope that kid is not made fun of. When I have a kid, and he goes to school with that milato kid, I hope they are friends. Yeah I'd be thrown off by it, but damn well my kid is learning from all the liberals that it's okay to be mixed.

This is another case of the "I dont know I don't care". Have your interratial sex, marriage, whatever... Don't let me in on the secret I don't care honestly... It's the same idea as homosexuality to the Army. What they don't know won't hurt them.

Hoo RAH!

My my, the racism has trickled down through the generations.. it lessens each generation it reaches. Like that major wealth that the board of trustees makes, for that awesome company........ My poor homeless friend will see a dime, compared to the billion dollars the board makes every year... My kids will see a 1% racism tact, compared to that 100% my grandparents knew.

It's a wonderful world.

But I do know..... I've always considered people using blogs as "diaries" to be horribly misguided.... I think I'll change my opinion for this single post..

Now back to my topic. I don't know. Things have popped up lately that are unforeseen.... I've lost control of my mind, my thoughts are stricken with paranoia and love/lust?

How can someone be so amazing they make you want to curl up and stay in that moment forever....

Back to what I was thinking...

I'm deciding to go look at some Airforce Jobs.. I've been bent on Navy in the past few months.. I realized today, after giving my best friend away to his new bride.... that maybe Navy is too far from home. I miss him terribly and it burns.. Even though he is staying in the same damn country.. What will it be like to leave for 2 years straight on a boat across seas?? devastating

Congratulations for the marriage. :) If you read this, I love you man just as much as my own brother.

Ahh back to the topic again... I sounds weird but ... Can you fall in love with someone over the shortest amount of time ever thought conceivable? Maybe not that short... But in the matter of two weeks? The spectral game that is my mind has rocked me hardcore this weekend... Saying good bye to my best friend... and saying good bye to one of my other best friends for so long... It hurts.. It really really hurts...

Optimism isn't one of my best traits at the moment.. In fact I'm infatuated with pessimism. Not for my self..... Just for everyone else.

Marrige proposals... In Video Games?

This morning, of all things...

I log onto Xbox.com to poke around the community when I come across this article.

Now... Normally this sort of thing wouldn't Surprise me.

Wait, first let's give you a summary so you don't actually have to read the article. This guy "edited" a map in Halo 3. In which he spelled out the words "Marry Me?" With an assortment of guns. Then he brought his girlfriend (who was playing on another console) over to the area in the level.




This was his fantastic idea for a proposal to his girlfriend.

Back to what I was saying.. This sort of behavior wouldn't surprise me... Via a game like World of Warcraft.... Mainly because everyone becomes a major addict of that game that plays it... (Most everyone). Men and women alike.. I've even met friends of friends who were introduced via WoW... But HALO 3?

Halo 3 doesn't even give you much opportunity to chat, discuss, or meet people on a regular basis. It's a SHOOTING game, the point is to kill each other. Not engage in marriage proposals!

I don't know.. It's not really my place to say anything I guess.. But still.. Oddddddddd..

Where did my time go?

Okay... I realize it has been almost two weeks since my last post.

Here are the major updates.

1. My band (death of downtown) is playing Nov 11th at 1982 in Gainesville. This is very exciting. It will be our First show ever. We've only managed to pull 2 actual practices for this show... So mistakes will be made.. But fun will be had!

2. Last night I received a call from Steven, my awesome guitarist/singer. He decidedly decided that we need to make a Christmas EP. He wants to re-record some songs of ours in acoustic, along with an acoustic version of a Christmas song that almost everyone will recognize! I won't tell you and ruin the surprise. So you can just beg me for a CD.

3. Currently the band is the only thing that interests me. School is here, it's going well.. Just not too exciting if you ask me! I also currently decided that I will own this guitar, THURSDAY! Bass guitar that is.

It is a Fender! Wooohoo!!!! P Bass. The mexican version is my preferred version because it carries a price tag of only $450.00 instead of the American price tag of $1000.00. From what I understand the differences aren't so large... Mainly the body is made of a few more plys of wood.. (Meaning it's a pound or two heavier). The pickups are slightly different (But I'm changing out stock pickups regardless). And the neck is a tad different (Which I'll change out when I have some money!).

Amazing that you can mod a bass guitar just as much as a car!

Anyway.. Uhh I'm out of stuff for the moment.

So the day the sun died.....

Nothing eventful will happen. Except we will die within a matter of weeks....

Anyway.. Uhhm... I went to Tag a wall with my buddy from our band... And... well.. I missed the action. I did get to supervise the last Ten Minutes of it though! Woo!!

I'm really out of things to talk about at the moment.. I do have a test today. Life has become a mundane schedule of drinking/work/working out/school! Which I guess is fun. Just not too exciting anymore!

No News of the Late!

So Thrice has a new album coming out on the 16th. It's apparently based off different elements of the Earth. Each element corresponds to a style of music. Fire is the first release, and is a rough edgy style... If you go to their page I just linked, you'll probably find something you enjoy. Thrice is quite the amazing band!

Anyway, they are playing Orlando, two nights in a row... One of which, or both I will be at. You cannot deny one of the best bands that composes music.

But don't take my word for it!

Power to the People. Or Me.

There is no power, but there is something awesome about a company sucking at it's job.

Okay maybe they don't suck, but maybe they do. My phone insurance company decides to send me a phone to replace one. I previously blogged it I think. So the phone they send me needs sent back because it's broken. They send me a new one.. Well the new one messed up recently and I called to have it replaced again.

They oblige after some hassle... Then they tell me they are goin to send me a UPS label for me to ship my broken phone to them. When they receive my broke ass phone they'll send me a new non broken phone. I agree....

Well today, I still am using my broke ass phone and my new phone came in the mail. Some how they sent me it without me sending my broken phone? Maybe they were being nice? Maybe they just lied. Or maybe they screwed up on their computers somewhere... Anyway I'm happy!

I received this neat, Alltel LG AX8600. It's rather cute, and rather blue. I won't complain because it was free and it got here really quickly...



Next - HALF LIFE.. The story, it came out in 1999. It was amazing, it revolutionized video games for the PC. I actually believe that Half Life caused a lot of gamers to go to the PC and stray from console living for a few years. After Half Life rocked our world, TFC came out.... TFC being team fortress Classic... Possibly the best multi player experience out there.

Anyone that knows anything about FPS will know Half Life... Quiz them sometime. Anyway, my point is that Half Life came out recently AGAIN for the Xbox 360. As Half Life 2: The Orange Box. They released Half Life 2 with a few extra games wrapped in a cute little orange box. From what I understand, it's possibly the best game purchase to be made for any FPS console fan. I think I'll go buy it and lay waste to a few hours of my life soon... I get paid on Friday so maybe that would be my best way to spend money!
